courses are available at Shahnaz Husain:
Diploma
in Beauty Therapy
The minimum qualification for eligibility for the Diploma Course is a School
Leaving Certificate. The duration is 200 to 300 hours, spread over 3 to 4
months, depending on the number of hours put it. It is also possible to do a
Crash Course for 6 to 8 weeks, covering 7 school hours a day. This is a
comprehensive professional course in beauty therapy, comprising of both
theoretical knowledge and practical training, opening up career opportunities as
beauty therapists, hairstylists, masseurs, beauty consultants, product
consultants, teachers and also grooms students to start their own enterprise, or
gain employment as salon managers. The syllabus of the Diploma Course includes
basic anatomy and physiology, diagnosis of specific skin/scalp types and
problems, facial treatments, practical skills in facial, head and body massage,
hair dressing/styling, normal salon treatments (hair removal, manicure,
pedicure, nail art/care and so on), make-up, dietetics, body care, weight
control, nutrition, exercise and the use of advanced equipment in skin, hair and
health care. Treatments devised by Shahnaz Husain are also part of the course,
along with salon / business management and client handling.
Post
Graduate Diploma - Skin and Beauty Therapy
The minimum qualifications required for eligibility are School Leaving
Certificate and Shahnaz Husain Diploma Course. The duration is 100 hours, spread
over 2 to 3 weeks. It is a professional course, with an emphasis on protective,
preventive and corrective care, skin therapy, diagnosis, treatment and care of
skin/scalp problems, as well as salon and business management. It enables the
students to recognize and treat skin and hair problems, covering product
knowledge and advanced treatment techniques.
Short-Term
Vocational Courses
IMPORTANT - The eligibility criterion for all the short-term courses is
completion of the Shahnaz Husain Diploma Course.
The lessons are conducted on an hourly basis and comprises of benefits and
applications of henna treatments.
Diamond
Facial
The Diamond Facial, a powerful age-control treatment, is the latest in
Shahnaz Husain’s repertoire of salon procedures. The course includes diamond
dermabrasion, which is one of the most potent treatments, helping to diminish
fine lines and wrinkles. Special revitalization techniques are also taught.
Based on Ayurveda, the diamond facial is like an elixir of youth for timeless
eternal beauty.
Gem
Facial
The Gem Facial, based on 4 different gems, restores and maintains the ideal
balances, counteracting harmful environmental effects. The course includes
massage techniques, along with dermabrasion, the use of galvanic gadgets and
revitalization. The treatment strengthens the physiology of the skin,
stimulating blood circulation and removing toxins.
Gold
Facial
The Gold Facial, based on Ayurveda, is a powerful anti-ageing treatment, with
revitalizing and rejuvenating effects. Special technique of lymphatic massage is
taught, which helps lymphatic drainage and facilitates the removal of toxins and
wastes. It also includes the entire facial steps, including deep pore cleansing,
skin purification, toning, etc.
Aroma
Facial
The Aroma facial is a massage technique and face treatment with essential
oils. Essential oils have potent and specific curative properties that are of
particular benefit to the skin. Most important of all, they are extremely
effective for inducing relaxation of both body and mind, calming the nerves and
reducing stress. The course includes massage and techniques with essential oils.
Pearl
Facial
The Pearl Facial is based on a special facial therapy, using the Pearl Cream
and Mask. It helps to strengthen the skin, improve its moisture retention
ability and produce an even colour tone.
Oxygen
Facial
The Oxygen Facial is one of the latest techniques of skin revitalization and
massage, using the Oxygen cream and mask, in order to create an enriched oxygen
layer and purify the skin.
Facial
Skin Treatment
The course is a combination of three different treatments, devised by Shahnaz
Husain. These have become breakthroughs in salon procedures. The three
treatments include Veg Peel, Thermoherb and Galvanic Facial. While Veg Peel
helps to minimize scars and blemishes, Thermoherb is a face-lift treatment.
Galvanic facials use a galvanic gadget for greater absorption.
Galvanic
Treatment
Students learn the use of the Galvanic gadget by which a steady, direct
galvanic current is utilized, to introduce water soluble substances through the
skin. It heightens the skin’s capacity to absorb and improves the penetration
of the products. The treatment of specific problems becomes easier.
Advanced
Training in Hair
This is a one-month course with a focus on advanced professional hair
cutting, styling and hair design, in keeping with various hair textures and
contemporary styles.
Advanced
Make-Up
A two-week course in advanced professional make-up techniques for different
needs, which includes make-up for television and still cameras, bridal make-up
etc. It brings make-up artistry within easy reach of the student.
Diploma
in Nail Art
A one-week course, which provides instruction in nail design extension and
nail artistry.
Diploma
in Dhara and Kerala Massage
This is a ten-day course in the different techniques of traditional Ayurvedic
Dhara and Kerala Massage. The course is conducted by qualified Ayurvedic
physicians and includes basic principles of “dosha” imbalances and how they
can be rectified, as well as the treatment of various ailments.
Advanced
Ayurveda
Conducted by Ayurvedic physicians, it includes Ayurvedic diagnostic
principles and clinical examination, along with the different treatment
techniques. The preparation of different packs and oils, based on Ayurveda, is
also an integral part of the course. They are useful as Spa treatments.
Advanced
Yoga
Ayurveda being a holistic system of healing, advanced Yoga courses are also
offered. The ancient Indian discipline of Yoga, considered to be the traditional
path to physical, mental and spiritual good health, has become popular around
the world.
Teacher
Training in Beauty
Become a trained teacher in beauty after completing the Teacher’s Training
course by Correspondence. With the growing demand for vocational beauty
training, there is a corresponding demand for trained teachers, offering yet
another career avenue in the beauty field. The school shares its vast
